The architectural project in the city -based on the above conditions- becomes a catalyst of social relations around a field of education with emphasis on technical education (which, according to a study of educational segments is one of the fewest functioning types of institutions within the province, which directly influences the professionalization of the agricultural production chain in Chile, thus economic efficiency).
The particular urban area where the project is located is a zone with an ongoing deterioration (mostly elderly neighborhoods who migrated from the rural to urban) next to a highly contrasting zone still uninhabited in the periphery of the city, at about 500 meters distant from the city downtown.
What the morphology of the projects tries to find is a recognition of the rural landscape of the south of Chile (landscape understood as the combination of the built and the natural), highlighting monolithic volumes in contrast to extensive flatlands with agricultural development. This way, the built volumes project themselves to the city, in order to become urban references. Around these isolated volumes, arable soil is developed and walkable terraces are built in order to address and interface the building (vertical) with the territory (horizontal). On the surroundings of the project, urban gardens and parks with a productive edge are proposed to revitalize and add value to the existing residential areas.
