ARCHITECTURE

The coexistence of public and private occurs in the reinterpretation of Ex-Theatre Imperio’s void.
Recover the city; people do not get to know each other. Pivate space is isolated from the public space and is not being understood as part of the dwelling itself, generating dehumanized street.
How SOLIDARITY is ARCHITECTURE?As solidary as the buildings respect the environment and don't take away part of goods that belong to everyone, such as landscape, sunshine, pedestrian freedom, among others.
As solidarity as REINSTATE to influence in society, understanding that the public is something collective, that heritage to be rescued is the daily coexistence.
Ex teatro Imperio is intervened according to this principle since it was built with a public purpose.
A large interior hall designed for all citizen, that breaks through within the construction to give pass to the void, the yard, which is not being used now and it has became in a bounded resource.
t recovers interior space for the city, encouraging it’s public and collective use. Opening it to the city and the weather. Making it part of the street by turning it into an interior square, and feed it by incorporating housing in the superior two-floor expansion.
It is a twist of roles and relationships between actor and spectator. The common citizen used to be a spectator of this daily life, relegated to a secondary level, but now this common citizen is the main actor, an expert in daily life.
In this case, the theater turns the city into a scenario by combining observation of everyday reality. The theater would show itself as a space that would assume the glance of whom live in there and share it with other people… crossed and shared views.
The building has three distinct moments while scene grows in height and it is gaining in privacy. The hight is the element with which we build privacy. Part of the street, a square, becomes in a condominium until it reaches the apartment
