The natural landscape is constantly changing and is positioned as one of the key players in relation to Climate Change and Global Warming, social and environmental problems today is of vital importance since their transformations are the most alarming in the last decade, putting at risk the survival of man on earth.
Chile presents a number of challenges regarding this issue. Among them are desertification, water shortages, soil loss to crops and floods. Reflecting an active and constantly changing territory.
In this context, it noted that climate change is a natural occurrence whose existence could not be denied, where man has contributed to its acceleration. Therefore, it is necessary to take care of the problem and this needs to be addressed from two perspectives: mitigation and adaptation.
The latter being the most important giving meaning to the following questions, What is our vision of life in the future ?, What would dwell in these new conditions ?, How does architecture respond to this change ?.
The project formulates a hypothesis posed by rising sea levels in coastal cities and a proposal for adaptation to respond to the new landscape, based on the study of this phenomenon and how it will affect the national territory. The field of action is the city of Vina del Mar, whose geography and density transforms it into the most affected because sea level will cover the urban area at an altitude of 37mts on the current sea level over a period of 85 years . In this new context, the future vision of human settlements, where urban planning will be systematically to achieve a unit area home.
